This past weekend, I took a trip back to Canada. Whenever I travel, I always think about how romantic it would be to travel by train. Trains seem the perfect place for whimsical encounters, like something out of Before Sunset.

Just as trains have faded away, so have party dresses worn during the day. In the 1950s, beautiful party dresses were everywhere (at least they seem to be in all of the Billy Wilder films and Mad Men episodes I watch.)

I found this gold dress with built in crinoline at the Rose Bowl flea market. 

To make it fit for day, I paired it with a very old jean jacket from Jacob Jr. that was a staple of my childhood.
